on the road again

Hello friends...this won't be long because I am typing on my phone. Jeff just got me a blackberry, so unfortunately I am joining the world of phone obsessed folks. I am not sure what I think about it yet. I got the blackberry curve, it is pink and cute:) maybe I will update more and take pics on the go since I can attach all the pics from my phone, this might end up being sorta cool! I am riding shotgun right now as jeff is driving. We are on our way to jackson mississippi yeeeehaw. That city is still torn up from katrina, it is sad. So my friends that's all, my thumbs hurt;) love yall

i am so excited, and for all those lindsay's out there...don't "the king and i" and 'fiddler on the roof' remind you so much of granny and pa's place? good memories.

jp's 1st stab at blogging

yo, Jeff here- After all the angry comments and death threats about my lack of blogging, I thought that I should begin my 1st blog adventure by telling a funny story that happened to me a few weeks ago.

So a friend of mine & I went to see a movie...meanwhile his wife and some of her friends carpooled with us to go see a chick flick together.  When our movie was over, we went outside & waited for the ladies to come out.  After 10 minutes, we decided to go up to the ticket booth to find out when the movie was scheduled to get out.  We asked, "what time does the 9:00 sex in the city get out?"  Her response, "The 9:00 showing or the 9:01?"(yes, her hair was blonde)  I instantly pointed at the employee through that thick glass and my laughing echoed through the speaker.  It was not my best moment but my friend and I had a pretty good laugh the rest of the night.

  Life is very busy right now with work and all.  This weekend we were lucky to have the one & only Bobby G stay with us for a day.  We took him to church this morning & then went to Uncle Billy's Brew & Que for lunch (Andrew-I miss you brother).  Work & married life have been going great.  Im so proud of Alyse and all she is learning at work.  The whole night thing took a bit of getting used to but I think we have it down now.  My work is going great.  I am having my best month in 2 years at PFS and I really enjoy what I do.  Everyday I really reflect on how thankful and happy I am that I found something i'm passionate about & put a rest to the landscaping & construction biz.(especially when it breaks over 100 degrees; also, it's pretty tough to get poison ivy 10 times in a summer helping people with their finances!!!)  We miss everyone a lot and are very thankful that we got to see most of you at the wedding.  If you're ever in Austin & need a place to stay, please give us a shout.

ya di da di da di daaaa

man, life is moving really fast right now. i see the complaints about jeffrey not blogging...i apologize for him :) we were up at bill and carol's lake house this weekend where we were very active. we went boating watching andrew learning to wake board (which was awesome and looked very exhausting), jeffrey went golfing with the men, jeffrey played tennis with the men, and i went hiking with my mama. obviously...jeff was a little more active than me. the weather couldn't have been more beautiful, hot and clear with a wonderful breeze. it was so nice i can't believe i only took like 2 pictures and it was of mary and kathy :) 

so we're back from the lake house and plugging back in to real life. i'm working, and loving it. nights are weird to adjust to, but it has been good so far. i only have to work 3 days a week...which are usually in a row so 3 days on 4 days off, etc, etc, etc. the hospital is building a new women's facility which will be great...all our units are expanding. babies and so cute and i can't wait to have a little niece or nephew come the end of january :) jeff and i are super excited that we already sent stuff to them ( i know a little premature, but what can i say...i can't wait!!!!). 

alright...hopefully this update will suffice for a little bit until more exciting things happen in our lives :)

I passed my test!!! whooo hooooo i can officially call myself a nurse! it feels really great :) thanks for all the support and prayers, i love it! i'll write more later, jp and i are going out to celebrate with dinner at the lake! yuuummmmm

yikes!

okay, i realize there has been a delay in blogging...here is why:

I STARTED MY NEW JOB!!! lots happened, i was supposed to be a NICU nurse, but last minute i was offered a position as a post partum nurse. so i'll be taking care of mom and baby right after delivery!!!!! sooooo fun!!!

i also have been crazy studying for my boards. i'm working as a "GN" which is a graduate nurse, so now i have to take my exams to be an RN.  so thursday is the big day. i feel as thought i haven't studied enough. i had this big schedule i was going to follow...but since i started my job i haven't kept up with it. so now it's cram time. 

regardless...please be in prayer for me thursday at 8:00 am - 2:00 pm. you can also pray the night before that i'll actually get sleep...and before 8:00am on thursday morning that i don't get sick because my nerves have taken over :)

i'll update soon. i should find out results on saturday or sunday (who knows if that's true  because it's a weekend...so it might be as late as monday).

i get scared easily.

so i live with this guy, my husband, of whom i should feel very safe and secure with. i thought i'd post now because my heart is still beating fast and i wanted to capture my reaction to this scary event. 

it's 10:30 pm, i'm picking up the house, and i know jeff is on his way home. the dishwasher and washing machine are both going, so the house is sort of noisy. anyhoo, i walk out of my room in my undies, and see a man standing by the front door. i scream so loud that i still 

have a headache 15 minutes later. but yeah, you guessed it - it's jeff at the door, not some robber or raper. 

this is not the first time a situation has happened like this. i get so freaked out. jeff i think is annoyed of it by this point...but what can ya do?? so i tried to capture my faces post-attack.

this is me trying to scream again...gosh my head hurts from shreaking so loud. 

here is my face ever since towards jeff because he doesn't understand how and why i get scared so easily, so he makes fun of me :(

i know this blog sucks, i just knew i needed to post something cause it had been awhile :) peace 

charlie

okay, so i thought posting pictures was fun, so here are some of our cat charlie (a girl). we're not obsessed with her or anything but give us a break, we don't have a kid :) so here they go:

this is when jeff and i went to my parents house to pick charlie up from her mamoo and baboo's house after they babysat her for 6 months.

charlie's security blanket at my parents house. she would stay up on those little steps and on top of the cabinets to stand clear of the dogs :)

here is charlie after she got declawed. she would hold one of her feet up like that like she was always holding a cane. it was really cute :)

okay, so i realized i didn't put pictures of jeff and i actually there...so here we go, blogger let me do it :)

here is jeff and sapo. this is significant because we used to call his old roommate sapo, it means frog or toad or something like that :)
another night in town square before the nightly shows they did-they were a blast!!! a professional dance crew came in and had choreographed dances for the soundtrack of "grease"....i totally got my hand jive on baby.
town square once again...this is the day before we left...it was haaaard to leave!
and lastly, our love charlie when we got home. she's so cute!

okay...pictures are sort of working again.....

this picture is a little hole in the rocks where the sea of cortex and the pacific ocean meet (so one body of water on each side)....it was cool

this is the very famous arch....beautiful! jeff and i took a little boat tour, that is how we got all these cool pictures close up and stuff.
here's another picture of the arch. our captain said that once a year the water is low enough for people to actually walk under it....cool huh?
so apparently cabo is known for all the pirates they used to have....this is one of their caves/ hideouts :)
this is me and my husband rudy...man his sunburn was baaaaad. he was a water polo and water volleyball pro-he was outside alllll day :)

honeymoon!!!

okay, here are some pictures from our trip to cabo :) it was so, so, so fun and BEAUTIFUL!!!! enjoy!!

here is how we left our cat, charlie :) jeff's mom was nice enough to take care of her for us-i just thought i'd post a picture of how weird she is! 

this is part of the marina...there was a big marlin fishing competition so it was buuuusy with lots of big expensive boats!
this is the view from our balcony...it faced inside the resort to one of the fun pools.
here is the view from the beach at our hotel...the beach you see is called "lovers beach" and at night the ocean apparently covers up the beach so each day when the beach presents itself, it is really nice, smooth sand (supposedly that happens, we never went and hung out there just because the water was choppy, so it was hard to hop off the boat safely)
haha, okay this is funny. after this beautiful dinner that jeff and i had we were taking this nice walk on the beach. the water in cabo is really unpredictable :) the waves were barely hitting our toes, then jeff yells "watch out, this one looks like a tsunami!!!" and we started running up towards the beach, but the water still got us good! we didn't take a picture of me, but i was wet up to my waist :(

saturday morning i leave for CABO for my honeymoon. WHOO WHOOO

okay, i'm married!! it was so so so so fun!!! i have a project that i've been working on so i'm busy, but i think i'm going to try and convince jeff to join blog efforts so it will be "ours" :) we might change the name so it'll include both of us...i'll let yall know as soon as i know :)

sweeeeet, the weather is consistently reporting "82 and sunny" for april 12th :) that makes me really happy because i refuse to have a back up plan for rain!! i'm sooooooo excited to see all my family - people start coming to town in 3 days!!! yahooooooooooooooooo

i am getting married in 2 weeks and 2 days. oh my goodness! i am so so so so so so so excited to marry this man!!!!!

gross. i am sitting at work and someone brought in cookies. i ate 4. i'm ashamed. they were heart shaped with sprinkles .... a heart is so inappropriate for how i feel about myself right now. i cannot write anything else...

i accept!

okay, well i've sort of been talking to people about my interview and stuff so i thought i'd update.

my interview: i didn't think it went very well...we got along fine socially, but then at the end i just had a weird feeling about it. that was wednesday and she said she'd let me know by friday about the position. so friday i got a call but i was at clinical all day so i couldn't call her back. so saturday i called her cell (i'm not weird...she said to do that) and she said she'd like to offer me the position!!! she said she'd have to call me monday with all the details...well...she called me today and told me all about it - and i just called her back and told her that i accept the position! i'm sooo excited!! my first real job will be in the NICU with teeny tiny babies :) initially i wasn't thrilled about the unit, but after touring and hearing about it i'm really, really excited! the hospital is really well respected and they take all the difficult births in austin and surrounding areas, so all the high risk babies end up there too (with me!).

i start june 2nd so i wont have to take time off for my honeymoon! thanks for all the prayers and well wishes yall, i'm super excited!! more updates to come :) i now have to catch up on homework that i've been ditching for the past couple weeks to get other stuff done.

yes!

yahooooooo!!! my test is done with and i couldn't be happier. i love how getting one thing off the checklist of "to do's" makes me at ease. so now the next big task: finding the right outfit for my first official interview ever. i think i did it...or it's at least coming together. i have cute black pants that make my butt look great (which honestly, is hard to do because of it's hugeness), and this top that is really really cute from White House, Black Market. i need to find some sort of shirt to go under this other shirt though. and shoes...i don't have shoes yet. i have to finish this outfit by tomorrow because my interview is on wednesday morning!!! so i got this interview the day after i applied. i'm nervous about it to be honest with you. i'm not sure if it's the area of nursing that i feel most led to, but i figured i'd interview for the heck of it. i may just end up loving it! so it's in the NICU with all the little bitty babies that are really sick :(

anyway, there are lots of reasons i think it would be awesome, and lots that i think it might not be so awesome - but we'll see. if it's meant to be then i'll have to think about it a lot, if it isn't...hopefully they just wont offer me the job so i don't have to think about it. sooo...wish me luck??
